May 26 2021 Legislative Update

𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐘𝐨𝐮!

Because of CCDL members advocating for your 2A rights and the advocacy of Senator Rob Sampson and other 2A senators who listened to their constituents. On Tuesday May 25th, the Connecticut General Assembly Senate amended and passed the amended S.B. 5. The amendment 𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗗 the 2A restrictions that would have made a 200’ radius around all polling locations a firearm free zone.

S.B. 5 AN ACT CONCERNING INCREASED OPPORTUNITIES FOR ABSENTEE VOTING, SAFE AND SECURE IN-PERSON VOTING, VOTER REGISTRATION AND CERTAIN OTHER CHANGES REGARDING ELECTION ADMINISTRATION. Will now move to the House of Representatives for a vote but at this point the bill does not include any infringements of our 2A rights.

The Senate will call H.B. 6355 and H.B. 6491 any day now. Contact your State Senator and ask them to:

Vote NO on H.B. 6355 and Vote YES on H.B. 6491.
