  It is time for you to step up and fight for your rights! NOTICE of PUBLIC HEARING:

Lobby Day is POSTPONED!

The Public Hearing/Lobby Day Part 2 has been POSTPONED: Date to be determined.

CCDL just received an update that the Public Hearing originally scheduled for Friday, March 13, 2020 and then postponed to Monday, March 16, 2020 has been canceled.

Due to concerns over Coronavirus all events and public hearings have been cancelled for next week.

As soon as CCDL gets any further information we will pass it along.

  SupportingH.B. 5390 AN ACT CONCERNING THE DUTY TO RETREAT IN A HOUSE OF RELIGIOUS WORSHIP To eliminate the requirement that a person in a house of religious worship retreat before using deadly physical force to defend himself or herself or a third person.   SupportingH.B. 5432 AN ACT CONCERNING NONLETHAL ELECTRONIC DEFENSE WEAPONS To remove the prohibition on possession of nonlethal electronic defense weapons.     OpposedH.B. 5448 AN ACT CONCERNING A RISK PROTECTION ORDER OR WARRANT 1) To allow family, extended family, roommates, ex-spouses and medical professionals to bypass an investigation and petition courts directly to have firearms removed. These will be ex parte (one-sided) warrants. Issued without an investigation by a non-bias third party. 2) Will require only one law enforcement officer, instead of two, to petition for a warrant to remove firearms. 3) Will only allow seized property to be held by police or a federal firearm license dealer. To not have firearms and ammunition returned until the until the person request a court hearing and can prove by a preponderance of the evidence that they no longer pose a risk.  4) The order will continue and property will be held by the state, until the person request a court hearing, once every six months, and can prove by a preponderance of the evidence that they no longer pose a risk. Members are needed for LOBBY DAY and to submit testimony!
