We Need YOU To Help 2A Candidates

Old Saybrook ‘Pop-up Volunteer day’

CCDL members in or near the 33rd Senate District, your help is needed. Anti-gun candidates are trying to gain as many seats as possible in the November elections. State Representative Melissa Ziobron is running for the 33rd Senate seat. Melissa Ziobron has a proven history of defending our Second Amendment rights and was CCDL Legislator of the Year in 2017.

Melissa’s opponent has spent $90,000 on television ads attacking Rep. Ziobron and labeling her as anti-woman. Her opponent has also stated he would have voted yes on a bill that seizes firearms, ammunition and permits without due process.

CCDL will be holding two “Pop-up Phone Banks” at Melissa Ziobron’s campaign headquarters located at 105 Elm Street, Old Saybrook. This is in the Old Saybrook Shopping Center (on the same side as Stop and Shop).

Please join other CCDL members on Saturday, October 13, 2018 so that Melissa can remain in Hartford to fight for the rights of legal gun owners.

First Pop-up Phone Bank Session:          1:00PM to 3:00PM

Second Pop-up Phone Bank Session:     3:00PM to 5:00PM

We need as many volunteers from CCDL as possible to join us and participate in one or both of these phone banks.

Trainers and staff will be on hand to provide instruction and a brief training session at the start of each phone bank.
If you’re able to attend please RSVP by October 10th to Ray Bevis at legislative@ccdl.us

Also, please consider emailing Melissa’s campaign for other volunteer opportunities at: contact@melissaziobron.com or visit her website at melissaziobron.com

2A candidates need our help!

One of the biggest concerns many legislators have is who will be there to help them win re-election if they vote with us. Too often we hear about how gun-grabbing politicians have people working on their campaigns. If we are going to stop this, like it or not we need to become more political than we have been in the past. While we have a positive track record on some campaigns, we will need more successes.

Please join us in helping the Pro2A movement win in 2018.
Help good candidates win this year.

Melissa Ziobron, 2017 Legislator Of The Year

The CCDL Executive Board proudly selects Melissa Ziobron as the 2017 CCDL Legislator of the Year.

Announcing the award, president Scott Wilson stated the following:

“CCDL would like to express our gratitude for the hard work that Melissa has done to protect our rights as citizens of Connecticut. While many other legislators were very helpful to kill pistol permit fee increase proposals or other gun related bills, this particular year, Melissa has stood out.”

“With Melissa’s effort to get ahead of this important issue, CCDL was able to muster support in time to testify before her committee and oppose these proposed fee increases. In a year of serious fiscal shortfalls, this was no small feat. CCDL and every permit holder owes Melissa a debt of gratitude. We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to her on behalf of our members.”

Melissa serves the 34th house district (Colchester, East Haddam and East Hampton). As a ranking member of the Appropriations Committee, she kept a keen eye on budget proposals that would have severely impacted the fees for pistol permits. These proposed fee increases would have been devastating to many gun owners in the state.

Melissa will be attending our monthly meeting to receive her award. CCDL invites our members to join us at the Elks Lodge (44 Maynard St) on November 14th 7:00pm in Middletown, CT to honor her.
