We Need YOU To Help 2A Candidates

Old Saybrook ‘Pop-up Volunteer day’

CCDL members in or near the 33rd Senate District, your help is needed. Anti-gun candidates are trying to gain as many seats as possible in the November elections. State Representative Melissa Ziobron is running for the 33rd Senate seat. Melissa Ziobron has a proven history of defending our Second Amendment rights and was CCDL Legislator of the Year in 2017.

Melissa’s opponent has spent $90,000 on television ads attacking Rep. Ziobron and labeling her as anti-woman. Her opponent has also stated he would have voted yes on a bill that seizes firearms, ammunition and permits without due process.

CCDL will be holding two “Pop-up Phone Banks” at Melissa Ziobron’s campaign headquarters located at 105 Elm Street, Old Saybrook. This is in the Old Saybrook Shopping Center (on the same side as Stop and Shop).

Please join other CCDL members on Saturday, October 13, 2018 so that Melissa can remain in Hartford to fight for the rights of legal gun owners.

First Pop-up Phone Bank Session:          1:00PM to 3:00PM

Second Pop-up Phone Bank Session:     3:00PM to 5:00PM

We need as many volunteers from CCDL as possible to join us and participate in one or both of these phone banks.

Trainers and staff will be on hand to provide instruction and a brief training session at the start of each phone bank.
If you’re able to attend please RSVP by October 10th to Ray Bevis at legislative@ccdl.us

Also, please consider emailing Melissa’s campaign for other volunteer opportunities at: contact@melissaziobron.com or visit her website at melissaziobron.com

Hands-On Campaign Workshop

Gun control groups are marching on. They are using anti-gun politicians to infringe on our rights. The only way to stop attacks on the 2nd Amendment is to help Pro2A candidates win in 2018. While most gun owners wish to be left alone, the anti-gun crowd will not cease in their efforts.

CCDL members are invited to participate in this FREE hands-on workshop to gain the necessary knowledge to become active in fighting the anti-gun machine. Following the workshop, you will have the opportunity to put what you’ve just learned to good use. You will be able to assist CCDL’s 2017 Legislator Of The Year, state rep Melissa Ziobron get elected to the senate, where she can be an even stronger voice in Hartford for CCDL members.

When: Monday, August 27th from 6:00pm until 8:00pm

  • What Gun Control Groups and sympathizers are doing
  • Examples of Effective Victories from Our Side
  • Q&A

2A candidates need our help!

One of the biggest concerns many legislators have is who will be there to help them win re-election if they vote with us. Too often we hear about how gun-grabbing politicians have people working on their campaigns. If we are going to stop this, like it or not we need to become more political than we have been in the past. While we have a positive track record on some campaigns, we will need more successes.

Please join us in helping the Pro2A movement win in 2018.
Help good candidates win this year.

10th Annual CCDL Family Picnic

On Saturday, August 25th CCDL will once again host our Annual Family Picnic at Boothe Memorial Park – 5800 Main Street on Putney, Stratford, CT from 11:00am – 4:00pm.

We’ll supply the burgers, hotdogs, soft drinks (no alcohol allowed in the park) and condiments. This is a FREE event for CCDL members and their families. Bring some cash, we’ll have all our CCDL merchandise for sale as well as a fun shirt sold especially for this event. We’ll also be raffling off lots of prizes. (The more raffle items the better, if you would like to donate something to the raffle, that would be great! Please contact Holly Sullivan at events@ccdl.us and let her know what you’d like to donate. It doesn’t have to be gun-related or super expensive, anything fun and legal that you and other people would like to win.) Holly is still in need of a few more volunteers to help set up, clean up and sell raffle prizes.

So come to Boothe Memorial Park and enjoy the day with other CCDL members. Bring blankets, chairs, and your family. Come have a good time, relax, make new friends, and celebrate our right to keep and bear arms. Come and get to know us and your fellow members, and learn more about what CCDL does to protect your rights as a gun owner in the state of Connecticut.

As we said, this a family picnic. There will be water pistols, horseshoes, frisbees, wiffle balls, and all sorts of games for kids young and old. There is no alcohol allowed in the park, but pets on a leash and lawful carry of firearms are permitted. Please use an appropriate holster, and keep it holstered.

Press Release – Rally For Our Rights

04/10/18
For Immediate Release:

The Connecticut Citizens Defense League (the state’s largest grass-roots gun rights group) announces the ‘Rally for Our Rights’ event at the State Capitol in Hartford. The event will take place on April 14th starting at 11:00am and will finish at 1:00pm. The event will include an opening ceremony, guest speakers and a patriotic atmosphere.

CCDL President Scott Wilson:
“We have seen the recent push to raise the age limit for owning firearms, and even more boldly, hearing them calling for a repeal of the 2nd Amendment. We have witnessed the aftermath of what continually occurs in gun free zones. The only solution being offered by most policy makers is to eradicate constitutionally protected rights our nation was founded on. We have watched as law-abiding individuals have become vilified simply because they wish to have the means for self-protection. This is why we are rallying. Those who support our rights will not simply sit back and let those very rights be trampled on.”

“CCDL asks that all who believe in the right to keep and bear arms to Rally for our Rights on April 14th in Hartford at our family friendly event.”
———————————————————————————————————————
About the CCDL: The Connecticut Citizens Defense League was formed in 2009 by a small group of concerned citizens as a non-partisan organization to advocate second amendment rights in the state of Connecticut. Since their founding, the group has grown to over 30.000 members across the state.

Thanks to this large supportive base across the state the CCDL has become a fixture of the capitol, and well recognized by committees that see firearms related bills.

As the go-to organization in the state they are consulted regularly by lawmakers who have questions and concerns about pending legislation or existing laws. For more information on the CCDL please visit http://www.ccdl.us/

It’s Time To Rally!

Are you ready for a 2A Rally?
It’s time to remind the gun-grabbers that we’re still here, and we still VOTE.

If you have been outraged by anti-gun propaganda rallies and blatant calls to repeal the 2nd Amendment, then this rally is your chance to speak out against those who would take your rights.
Let’s swarm the Capitol grounds, and show this state that we will not give up our rights quietly.

DATE: Saturday, April 14, 2018
TIME: 11am until 1pm (or later)
PLACE: Connecticut State Capitol, 210 Capitol Ave, Hartford

It will once again be at the State Capitol, north side facing Bushnell Park. All lawful forms of carry are permitted on the Capitol grounds, but remember Bushnell Park is a so-called “Gun Free Zone“.

More info coming soon, as final details get hammered out.
