Press Release – San Bernardino Shooting

For Immediate Release:
The Connecticut Citizens Defense League (The state’s largest grass-roots gun rights group) is speaking out against calls for more gun control made by elected officials from Connecticut.
Comment from CCDL President Scott Wilson:
“Once again we have Governor Malloy spouting off for more gun control before any facts are out about who may have committed the atrocity in San Bernardino and why they committed it. Once again we also have Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty, Senator Chris Murphy and Senator Richard Blumenthal parroting calls for more gun control out of their playbook. It is obvious that in their minds, law-abiding citizens of the United States would be better off walking around completely defenseless with no means to protect themselves”.
Wilson Added:
“While CCDL typically tries to refrain from commenting in the early stages of mass murders involving firearms, it is becoming increasingly harder to do so given the fact that elected officials run to the microphone while these events are still in progress. A sane person would be foolish to listen to any of these people, given that their ultimate goal is to eradicate our 2nd Amendment, and to disarm the population of this country. Therefore, it is the duty of this organization to counter outrageous statements made to today from these officials”.
Wilson Concluded with a reference to last weeks press release:
“Based on comments today by President Obama about possible terrorists, CCDL refers to a press release from last week for details”:
About the CCDL: The Connecticut Citizens Defense League was formed in 2009 by a small group of concerned citizens as a non-partisan organization to advocate second amendment rights in the state of Connecticut. Since their founding, the group has grown to over 20,000 members from across the state.
Thanks to this large supportive base, the CCDL has become a fixture at the state capitol, and well-recognized by committees that see firearms related bills.
As the go-to organization in the state they are consulted regularly by lawmakers who have questions and concerns about pending legislation or existing laws. For more information on the CCDL please visit

  1. Scott: Excellent points made by you. Question: If Malloy, Bloomenthal, Murphy or Esty’s names appear on the watch list, can they still hold public office? If their names appear on the “secret list” then they should be immediately removed from office. After all, fair is fair.
I’m retired so I am listening to CNN. Some of these reporters are very biased and are clearly “anti-gun”. I am sick and tired of these people passing laws that do absolutely nothing except to punish the legal gun owner.

  2. If those that continue to call for more and more ineffective gun control had a single functioning brain cell, they might realize the problem is criminals and nut jobs, not guns and gun owners. Our state’s two US Senators and five congressional representatives are an absolute embarrassment that want nothing less than total civilian disarmament across the nation. They are ALL traitors that need swing from a stout rope. Think about this….when was the last time there was a shooting of any kind at:

    A Police station
A shooting range of any kind (I can only think of one, involving Chris Kyle)
A gun show of any kind (there have been a couple of NDs because of stupidity, but no purposeful acts)
A gun shop or store that also sells guns
    A firearms manufacturing plant
    A firearms distributor warehouse
    An ammunition manufacturing plant
A military armory (Post shootings have been carried out with outside guns brought in by bad guys, where military personnel were unarmed)
    A CCDL meeting or event

Every one of these places are full of guns, ammo, and people actually carrying loaded guns on their person. I know that whenever I visit any of these places, I feel safest and can let my guard down a little.

In the meantime, The Armed Civil Disobedience of Non-Compliance goes on unabated.

    As always….still their move.

    • When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. When we were only 13 colonies under the British, the British wanted “gun control”. One third of our colonists favored the British Position. One third were neutral or maybe they just didn’t give a rats behind. The other one third under Washington formed an army and shot at the British. Maybe our government wants us to do the same. Any thoughts?

  3. Taking guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens is not the answer.WE ARE NOT THE PROBLEM.Taking away our right to carry and protect are selves will only leave us with more mass shooting.Taking guns out of our hands only puts more into the hands of these sick people that want to kill. And knowing that were unarmed targets for them will just leave more of us dead. You will never take guns away from them but leaving us at their mercy is not a good future for our country for our family’s for our children.

    • Amen. Listening to CNN News, there are a lot of reporters who put out information that is misleading and inaccurate. They paint a picture that anyone who has a gun is a danger to society. Therefore more “gun control” is needed.
Obama, in his latest statements repeats his concerns about gun violence. If he means what he says, he will immediately disarm the Secret Service in order to “prevent gun violence”.

  4. Maybe it is time that law abiding gun owners start their own campaigns to educate and sway the public opinion towards the benefits of an armed population of law abiding Americans, to combat the brainwashing propaganda by the media and politicians to slowly but surely paint a negative picture of legal gun owners and demonization of an inanimate object, an object I might add, that was used to secure the freedoms that we live under…..and without firearms the Republic would not have been…..and history clearly teaches us that when firearms are registered and confiscated by tyrannical minded government..well, millions of people get oppressed and murdered.

Malloy, Murphy, Bloomenthal, Etsy, Fienstein, Bloomberg, and all the other DEMONcrat enemies of liberty must be removed from their positions, but, perhaps more important is to change the culture, change people’s viewpoint and worldview on legal gun ownership….change that and these traitors would be kicked out of office. But, as long as you have a populace majority of people willing to give up liberty for “safety” the gun hating legislation will continue.

I don’t live in Connecticut, but, these politicians and your oppressive gun laws really pi## me off!!!

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty.”

    – Thomas Jefferson

  5. I wanted to share this with y’all. Remember, if we stand together, we will survive together…..and stand against tyranny together.

    This was on today.

Are you willing to give all and possibly lose all, to ensure you, your children and your grandchildren will live free????

Fighting Words: An Open Letter to Publisher Arthur Sulzberger, Jr.
The New York Times just published the newspaper’s first front page editorial in 95 years. It urged America’s legislators to outlaw civilian ownership of semiautomatic battle rifles. This editorial twisted words to castigate our militia arms as follows: ” These are weapons of war, barely modified and deliberately marketed as tools of macho vigilantism and even insurrection.”

The editor went on to urge: ” Certain kinds of weapons, like the slightly modified combat rifles used in California, and certain kinds of ammunition, must be outlawed for civilian ownership. It is possible to define those guns in a clear and effective way and, yes, it would require Americans who own those kinds of weapons to give them up for the good of their fellow citizens.” [Emphasis added.]

Those are fighting words. They’ve made it clear: These statists want to enact a law forcing civilian disarmament. This would of course be enforced under color of law, by their recently militarized bully boys in black. (Formerly in blue.)

I have a few terse points for Publisher Arthur Sulzberger, Jr., Editor Dean Baquet, their subordinate editors of The New York Times, and all others of their ilk:

The words of our Founding Fathers were unequivocal: “…the right of The People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” Those words can only be taken one way.
There are more privately-owned guns in America that there are inhabitants. The task of attempting go out and collect them is a Fool’s Errand.
These are indeed ‘”weapons of war.” They are in fact our most important militia weapons. It was the specific intent of our Founding Fathers that our civilian populace be armed on an equal footing with any standing army. They have their M4s and we have ours. And by the way we also have even more powerful scoped deer rifles with 500-yard effective range. Millions of them.
Even if just 3% of the citizenry were to take up arms against your intended tyranny, we would still outnumber the combined strength of the police and military by a substantial margin.
There are 10.3 million licensed deer hunters in the United States, and around 22 million military veterans.
Not everyone in law enforcement and the military will go along with your scheme. Many of them will have the backbone to stand against you.
Any attempt to disarm the citizenry by force will surely be met by a matching resisting force. Aggression begets aggression. It will be you and your minions who will be the first initiators of force, not us.
    Lastly, and most importantly:

You hint of “insurrection.” Yea, if you continue using such fighting words and if the fools in Congress do indeed enact such unconstitutional legislation, then by God, you will spark an insurrection of the sort that has not been seen in this land since 1781. There will be a second Civil War, and it will be concluded in a matter of weeks, not years. There will be blood, and that blood will be on the hands of the tyrants, not We The People.
Tyrants deserve to have their bodies dragged through the streets. It happened to Benito Mussolini. It happened to Nicolae Ceaușescu. It happened to Muammar Gaddafi. Be warned: History does not precisely repeat, but it often rhymes.

If you want my guns, sir, then come and take them. But when you send your thugs to my ranch, tell them to bring plenty of body bags and extra grub. Because they’ll certainly need them.

    Sincerely, – James Wesley, Rawles
