The Dangerous Tyranny Act of 2015

11/24/2015
For Immediate Release:

The Connecticut Citizens Defense League (The state’s largest grass-roots gun rights group) is speaking out in opposition to recent statements made by Governor Malloy, and Senators Murphy and Blumenthal regarding the deceptively named “Denying Firearms and Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act of 2015”.

Comment from CCDL President Scott Wilson:

“I make no apologies for emphatically stating that all three of them are plainly and simply advocating for tyranny in the truest sense of the word. Everything that they are calling for is completely antithetical our rights as Americans. These proposals not only violate our 2nd Amendment rights, but our 14th Amendment rights as well. Their rhetoric about blanket gun control should concern every American regardless of their views on guns. They are actually advocating for the elimination of due process for citizens”.

Key Points about the Watch List:

1) For the purposes of this proposed legislation, a “terrorist” is anyone whose name appears on the FBI’s terror watch list. This is not a list of known terrorists. As the name implies, it is just a list of people the FBI is watching for information about terrorism. A person might be watched because a relative, acquaintance or coworker is suspected of terroristic actions. They themselves may be law-abiding citizens.

2) Anyone can mistakenly and unknowingly end up on the terror watch list. You do not have to commit any crime to be added to the list Infants, US senators, Nelson Mandela, and the entire Ford Motor Company have all been mistakenly added to the watch list.

3) There is no deliberate means to remove yourself from the list should you mistakenly end up on it.

4) The criteria to end up on the terror list are unclear and vague.

5) We do not have a clue who is adding names to this list. Adding someone to the list is purely a bureaucratic decision with no accountability, and no opportunity for an individual to refute being added to the list. If Malloy, Murphy and Blumenthal have their way, citizens who have been charged with no crime will lose their Constitutional rights with NO due process.

6) Gun sales to individuals who are on the watch list are already reported to and approved by the federal government. They decline the sales for actual criminals.

Wilson concluded:

“Either we have rights as individuals, or we do not. Lawmakers continue to push down the road of gun control under the guise of concerns for safety, while many citizens in European countries are hiding behind locked doors wishing they had some means of protection with little help from police”.

“If there are actual terrorists with plots or crimes being committed, the Federal Government and police already have the authority to act accordingly, instead of utilizing some list and Gestapo-style tactics against large swaths of the population”.

About the CCDL: The Connecticut Citizens Defense League was formed in 2009 by a small group of concerned citizens as a non-partisan organization to advocate second amendment rights in the state of Connecticut. Since their founding, the group has grown to over 20,000 members from across the state.

Thanks to this large supportive base, the CCDL has become a fixture at the state capitol, and well recognized by committees that see firearms related bills.

As the go-to organization in the state they are consulted regularly by lawmakers who have questions and concerns about pending legislation or existing laws. For more information on the CCDL please visit http://www.ccdl.us

  1. Malloy, Bloomenthal and Murphy are on a “secret watch list”. According to policy adopted by these leaders, they will be deported to Syria. If they appeal, they may be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parol. This action is effective immediately.

  2. If you will review just the public statements of the Govenor, our Democrats in Hartford major city mayors, our US Senators, our US Representatives, And most state administrators, this seems to be their agenda:

    1. Totally disarm us.
    2. Get every gun owner on some database or list, then pursue confiscation.
    3. Allow unvetted illegals in to our state. And pay their expenses.
    4. Meke Republicans and indepenents “The Enemy”.
    5. Dncrease healthcare while increasing the cost. Bankrupt our hospitals.
    6. Increase taxes at every level.
    7. Eliminate free speech (1st Amendment) and the 2nd Amendment.
    8. Gut the State Constitution and the Federal Constitution.
    9. Gut our Ct. defense and firearms industry.
    10. Increase energy costs.
    11. Fail to pay down state debt.
    12. risk and invade our state managed pension plans.
    13. Increrase the size of state government.
    14. Constantly threaten every citizens who is not a part of their cabal

BUT ALL THE TIME KEEP THEIR JOBS, GET BETTER JOBS FROM BHO IN WASHINGTN, HAVE BETTER HEALTHCARE PLANS AS US REPRESENTATIVES THAN THE TOTAL GENERAL PIOPULATION.

The results – total failure of Connecticut.

    • You hit the nail right on the head. I have noticed these same trends. It’s time for a change.

    • You forgot to mention also, while they are letting unvetted illegals into this state, we have veterans sleeping out in the cold. I’m trying very hard not to use name calling about our representatives. Believe me it is an impossible task. Other than that your points are right on.

    • Good point. Law suits are expensive and take a great deal of time. We would have to pick and choose our battles carefully. Right now we really need to focus on the current legal challenge to the state.

  3. Position well stated. Not to take away from that in any way; but for what it is worth, I would not characterize CCDL as a “gun rights” group, but as a civil rights group. The right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness requires that individuals have the means to secure their life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. That is the responsibility of the people, not the government. Herein lies the most fundamental of all civil rights.

    • Bingo. My feelings exactly. Our Civil Rights are being denied. Of course, a liberal “court” might not see it that way.

  4. The Armed Civil Disobedience of Non-Compliance. We are proud of being despised by the despicable.

    DEFY-DECEIVE-EVADE-RESIST-SMUGGLE

I and many of my fellow citizens are peaceable and non-violent and want to be LEFT ALONE!!! We are however, criminals in the eyes of the state. If that’s the way they want it….FINE! If they keep it up, there will be more of us outside the law than abiding it. Then what? As of now the status quo is NOTHING!

As always….it’s still their move. Be advised that armed incursions for the purpose of confiscation will get many Patriots and (hopefully more) tyrants killed.

  5. Isn’t that how the rebellion against our Mother Country, England, began? Thank heaven Washington, Jefferson, Franklin and others were captured and hung in the public square in London. Some estimates suggested only one third of the colony population was for revolution, one third were loyal to the crown and the other third didn’t give a rat’s behind. “God Save the Queen!”
P.S. Lord Michael Bloomberg will be very pleased with this evaluation. Wasn’t he Knighted by the Queen? (No Joke)

  6. Almost everyone could be deemed a terrorist by the feds….they already said that people who quote the Bible have this characteristic ascribed to a terrorist. Of course once they say that you cannot buy a gun; then you cannot possess a gun. Then everyone will be labeled a terrorist. CCDL is getting it.

    • Remember when this administration said returning Veterans were predisposed to be terrorists? That is what makes something like this act truly frightening.

      • The gun grabbers are using whatever excuse they can find to take guns away from law abiding citizens. These people cannot be trusted or taken at their word.

  8. “Did you really think that we want those laws to be observed?” said Dr. Ferris. “We want them broken. You’d better get it straight that it’s not a bunch of boy scouts you’re up against – then you’ll know that this is not the age for beautiful gestures. We’re after power and we mean it. You fellows were pikers, but we know the real trick, and you’d better get wise to it. There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now, that’s the system, Mr. Rearden, that’s the game, and once you understand it, you’ll be much easier to deal with.”
    —Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged

    • Some law makers feel the need to convince their special interests that they are doing something. If you want to know the truth, follow the money. Bloomberg pledged 50 million to impose more gun control laws.
The Queen of England tried to “Knight” Bloomberg but under British Law could not. Bloomberg has a home in England. Don’t be surprised if he makes efforts for this nation to be re-united again with England. The Queen needs our Tax Dollars to restore her many castles. No joke.
